Pass Pro Lab: Laremy Tunsil on Simplifying Pass Protection

The Commanders LT discusses Mike Wahle's influence, Walter Jones' line set, staying square, winning with your feet, film study, mindset and preparing for the NFL's best edge rushers.

For this episode of Pass Pro Lab, Commanders LT Laremy Tunsil joined me to break down his film while discussing his career, lessons learned, best practices and more.

One thing Tunsil kept coming back to throughout this conversation was simplicity.

Whether we were discussing his pass set, hand usage, preparation, facing elite rushers or the mental side of the position, the answer often came back to the same idea: get to your spot, trust your set and avoid creating problems for yourself.

A big turning point came in 2020 when Tunsil began working with former NFL offensive lineman Mike Wahle. Wahle introduced him to a line set influenced by Hall of Fame LT Walter Jones that helped eliminate many of the inside losses and spins that frustrated him earlier in his career.
