Former Packers (2008-2015), Bears (2016-2017) and Dolphins (2018) OG Josh Sitton amassed 151 career starts (138 regular season) over 11 seasons with four Pro Bowl and three second-team All-Pro selections.
Sitton had a uniquely aggressive playing style in pass protection at guard using efficient footwork, adept use of hands and excellent play strength to build his house and anchor on command. This created a consistently firm pocket to include sorting, passing off and picking up stunts with precision. While most guards utilize and present more variance in their approach as pass protectors, Sitton simply went out and played his game every week regardless of the competition and it worked.
Sitton was one of the 3-5 best left guards of his decade where he played both guard spots and even filled in at left tackle in a pinch.
Current guards won't be able to replicate this style completely but the adherence to core fundamentals of jump/firm/shoe/creep set footwork and use of hands are worth studying. Not only could this make you a better, more effective blocker but it would carry on the legacy of one of the best guards to play the game.
Side note: current Broncos RG Quinn Meinerz is a spitting image of Sitton both in terms of body type and play style.
