Each off-season over the last few years I have put together several dozen highlight tapes for offensive and defensive linemen across the NFL. The original idea was for players to use them as an additional tool in free agency to show where they won and how they could help a team, but it has evolved to many guys wanting one for themselves to preserve a piece of their career.
Over the past week, I have studied every 2021 snap of three 2022 free agents: Saints LT Terron Armstead, Steelers G Trai Turner and Texans T Geron Christian. I recorded every quality block, put a spotlight on them before each play and slowed down many of the reps to accentuate notable elements. This assists the viewer in appreciating the nuance and skill involved in many of the blocks O-linemen execute that rarely get noticed.

Saints LT Terron Armstead - 2021 Highlights
Armstead finished his ninth career season in 2021 starting just eight games (his fewest since 2016), largely due to an elbow injury he suffered against the Patriots in Week 3 that lingered the rest of the year. Armstead has had to play injured quite a bit over his career, and it has led to him averaging just over 11 starts over his last five seasons.
Despite the nagging physical ailments, whenever he’s on the field, Armstead has been a top five left tackle in football. He is clearly one of the most physically gifted tackles in the league, possessing ideal size, power and athletic ability, but it’s the technical proficiency that makes him truly special. Both the dynamic physical traits and elite-level skill were on display in 2021.
Armstead is a game-changing, blue-chip talent at tackle that will be highly coveted on the open market this off-season because of plays below that showcase some of what makes him special.
